Brain Tumor Specialist Rupa Juthani, MD, Expands Brain and Spine Center in Queens

Rupa Juthani, MD,Weill Cornell neurosurgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens

Neurosurgeon Rupa Gopalan Juthani, M.D., has been appointed to the faculty of the Weill Cornell Medical College Department of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Juthani, a general neurosurgeon who specializes in brain and pituitary tumors, will treat patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Queens and at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan. 

“Dr. Juthani’s appointment represents a significant addition to our faculty,” says Neurosurgery Department Chairman Philip E. Stieg, PhD, MD. “Dr. Juthani is a talented neurosurgeon and will be a great asset in our efforts to expand brain and spine tumor care in Queens. Patients in Queens and Nassau will have the same access to world-class care as those who live closer to our Upper East Side campus.”

Dr. Juthani received her M.D. from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her neurosurgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic.  Dr. Juthani received further training with a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she also completed a two-year research fellowship focusing on developing nanoparticle-based therapies for glioblastoma and brain metastases.

Dr. Juthani will see patients at the office of the NewYork-Presbyterian Queens office in Forest Hills and perform surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Queens. Dr. Juthani is fluent in both English and Tamil.
