  • Back and Neck Pain Program

    The Back and Neck Pain Program at the new Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Comprehensive Spine Care takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating conditions of the spine. Co-directed by Dr. Josh Weaver, Dr. Roger Härtl, Dr. Neel Mehta, and Dr. Jaspal Singh, the program is dedicated to identifying, diagnosing and treating the source of pain. This includes a thorough evaluation of the case, selecting the best treatment options, and utilizing the most advanced technology.

  • Brain Metastases

    The Brain Metastases Clinic at the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center offers a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of metastatic brain tumors and leptomeningeal disease. While surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are important aspects of brain metastases treatment, we have found that our patients benefit from access to holistic services that help treat the neurologic consequences of their disease. To that end, we have assembled a broad team to offer integrated care for our patients.

  • Chiari CARE

    The Weill Cornell Chiari CARE (Chiari and Related Etiologies) program offers evaluation and treatment for individuals with Chiari malformation and other complex congenital malformations of the central nervous system, including tethered spinal cord, syringomyelia, basilar invagination, and other disorders of cerebral spinal fluid flow.

  • Cleft and Craniofacial Team

    The Craniofacial Program takes a multidisciplinary approach to treating Craniofacial Disorders. Co-directed by Dr. Caitlin Hoffman of  Pediatric Neurological Surgery and Dr. Vikash Modi of Pediatric Otolaryngology, the program is dedicated to ensuring a successful outcome for every child and family. This includes a thorough evaluation of the case, selecting the best option, and utilizing the most advanced technology. The team understands that the trust developed before surgery is equally important after surgery in order to support the child through a positive recovery. 

  • Clinical Neuro-Oncology

    The Clinical Neuro-Oncology Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center offers world-class research and medical treatment for cancers affecting the brain and spine. Our experts treat all types of malignant adult and pediatric brain tumors, including primary and metastatic tumors. The program sees hundreds of patients each year with either newly diagnosed and recurrent tumors.

  • Cognitive Remediation

    The comprehensive Cognitive Remediation Program focuses on improving working memory, attention, and focus. A new five-week version of the program includes personal consultation, telephone sessions, and online components designed to improve performance in a wide range of cognitive tasks.

Far and away our most complex organ, the brain is responsible for not just physical functioning but also intellect, emotions, memory, and the very sense of self that makes us feel like ourselves.   • Concussion Program

    The Concussion Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center treats children and adults who have sustained concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our experts offer evaluations and recommendations on injured patients; our specialists also work with major sports teams to ensure the health of their athletes.   • Endoscopic Spine Surgery Program

    The new Endoscopic Spine Surgery Program at the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center offers the most advanced, least invasive option for relief of pain and repair of herniated discs and other common spine conditions. Using a specially designed endoscope – a camera mounted at the end of long, thin, flexible tube and fitted with tiny specialized tools – a neurosurgeon can now perform surgery through an incision less than a quarter of an inch long.     The Epilepsy Surgery Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is a part of the widely acclaimed Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian, which is nationally recognized for its pioneering achievements in research and clinical innovations in the treatment of patients with seizure disorders.

  • Facial Pain Program

    The Facial Pain Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is an innovative program that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of two of the most disabling causes of facial pain: trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm.

  • Interventional Neuroradiology

    The Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is proud of its world-class Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) Program, one of the few such programs in the world to offer a full team of specialists in this advanced discipline. Under the direction of Dr. Y. Pierre Gobin, the Interventional Neuroradiology Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center performs advanced procedures every day, leading to better patient care, shorter hospital stays, and better outcomes.

  • Laser Surgery Program

    The Laser Surgery Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center uses state-of-the-art laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) to treat patients with certain brain lesions using tiny beams of light instead of radiation. These beams heat the lesion and destroy it without damaging surrounding healthy brain tissue, without subjecting patients to the potential side effects of radiation.

  • Minimally Invasive/Endoscopic Neurosurgery

    Minimally invasive neurosurgery utilizes small, flexible, lighted tubes called endoscopes to visualize various parts of the brain, skull base, or spinal cord through small openings. Endoscopes serve as small microscopes, magnifying critical anatomical structures so the surgeon can easily see the various diseased areas requiring repair, removal, or replacement. Because the use of endoscopes is much less intrusive into these anatomical structures than is conventional surgery, endoscopic neurosurgery is referred to as minimally invasive neurosurgery.

  • Neurofibromatosis Surgery Program

    The pediatric neurosurgeons of the Neurofibromatosis Surgery Program have expertise in diagnosing and treating neurofibromatosis and Schwannomatosis in young patients, specializing in the surgical removal of painful or disfiguring tumors.

  • Neuromodulation Program

    Our Neuromodulation Program, which includes specialized physicians and researchers from the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center and Weill Cornell Pain Medicine, is one of the largest and busiest such practices in New York.

  • Neuronotor Disorders Program

    Many children experience neuromotor issues — meaning walking, balancing, and movement. The NeuroMotor Disorders Program at the Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Brain and Spine Center brings together a multidisciplinary team of specialists who have been trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of these movement disorders in children and adolescents.

  • Orbital Tumors Program

    Tumors involving the eye are among the most frightening diagnoses any patient may hear — they affect appearance, put vision at risk, and may even be life-threatening. Diagnosing and treating these tumors requires an expert, multidisciplinary team from a range of specialties, working together to provide the best outcomes for each individual.

  • Pediatric Brain and Spinal Cord Tumor Program

    When a child is diagnosed with a brain tumor or spine tumor, a number of specialists need to participate in the treatment plan. Weill Cornell's Pediatric Brain and Spinal Cord Tumor Program is a multidisciplinary effort directed by highly trained clinicians with specific areas of expertise. From the moment of diagnosis, a program team — most often a neurologist, radiation therapist, neuroendocrinologist, and oncologist — join the neurosurgeon in developing a treatment plan for the child. Together the team will select and manage the most effective combination of therapies for each patient.

  • Pediatric Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery

    The Pediatric Skull Base and Pituitary Surgery Program at Weill Cornell Medicine Pediatric Brain and Spine Center is dedicated to providing patients with compassionate, state-of-the-science care and treatment. Pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield directs the program, where he is paired with Dr. Theodore H.   • Pediatric Spinal Deformity and Scoliosis Clinic

    The Pediatric Spinal Deformity and Scoliosis Clinic at Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center is dedicated to providing young patients with the advanced diagnostics and surgical interventions they need. Children with a wide range of spinal deformities – including scoliosis, cranio-cervical deformities, complex Chiari malformations, kyphosis, and spondylolisthesis – are evaluated by multiple neurosurgeons for a complete understanding of their condition and treatment options.

    Disorders of the neuroendocrine system are extremely complex conditions that require coordinated multidisciplinary care. The Pituitary and Neuroendocrine Program at the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center provides integrated, comprehensive care for patients with tumors or other disorders of the pituitary and adrenal glands or any neuroendocrine tumors. We welcome referrals of patients with diagnosed or suspected pituitary or neuroendocrine conditions that require coordinated care.

  • Skull Base Surgery

    The Skull Base Surgery Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center brings together the expertise of neurological surgeons, otolaryngologists (ENT specialists), plastic surgeons, neurologists, neurological oncologists, radiation oncologists, and intensive care nursing staff in the comprehensive treatment of disorders of the skull base. The skull base, which is the complex region at the floor of the cranial cavity, is a challenging location for surgery because of its proximity to the brain, face, and neck.

    The Spinal Tumor Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is an innovative subspecialty dedicated to patients with tumors of the spine and spinal cord.   • Stroke Program

    The Stroke Program at the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center is a leader in the treatment and prevention of stroke. Our multidisciplinary stroke team is comprised of endovascular neurosurgeons, interventional radiologists, stroke neurologists, and neurointensivists. Our neurosurgeons are internationally recognized experts in cerebrovascular conditions and have advanced training in the very latest minimally invasive procedures used to treat and prevent stroke.

  • Surgical Neuro-Oncology

    The Surgical Neuro-oncology Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center offers specializes in the surgical treatment of cancers affecting the brain and spine. Under the leadership of Neurosurgeon-in-Chief Philip Stieg, our neurosurgeons treat malignant tumors in adults and children, including primary and metastatic tumors.  

  • Traumatic Brain and Spine Injury Program

    A traumatic injury can happen in the blink of an eye — in a fall or a car accident, after a misstep on the job or a collision on a playing field, even as the result of a gunshot. When the incident results in damage to the head, neck, or back, the Brain and Spine Injury Program at the Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center is ready to respond.
