Evan Bander, M.D.

Evan Bander received a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Cornell University in 2011, with a concentration in neurobiology and behavior. He received his M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College in 2016, where he won the Sidney and Viola Borkon Memorial Prize, awarded annually to the student who places at the top of the class for scholastic performance upon completion of the pre-clinical curriculum. He was selected for membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2015.

Dr. Bander has extensive research experience, including the 2014-2015 academic year spent as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Medical Research Fellow with Dr. Shahin Rafii in the Ansary Stem Cell Institute at Weill Cornell Medical College and a summer as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Summer Medical Fellow at Weill Cornell in 2012. He spent two years working with Dr. Chris Schaffer in the Cornell University Department of Biomedical Engineering and three summers working with Dr. David Scheinberg at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Chemistry. He has co-authored many peer-reviewed articles, including several with Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield on pediatric brain tumors and with Dr. Theodore Schwartz on skull base surgery.
