The neurosurgeons of Weill Cornell Medicine are consistently named to annual lists of Top Doctors, Best Doctors, and Super Doctors. This year, we have a record 17 members of our team on the Castle Connolly list of 2023 America’s Top Doctors, showcased in this year’s  New York magazine roster of Top Doctors in New York. Many of them have been named to this prestigious list for 10, 15, or even 20 years.

The Neurosurgery Outstanding Service Award spotlights members of the department who exemplify the department's core values. The second-quarter winners of 2023 are both senior patient coordinators: Darcelle Benjamin-Smith, with an honorable mention for Michelle Navarro.

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Twomey, a physician assistant in the neuroscience service, and to Andrea Wolf, a physician assistant in neurosurgery, for their awards. Twomey was recently named Advanced Practice Provider of the Year in Neurology for her outstanding work with our hospitalized patients, and Wolf was presented with the 2023 Neurosurgery Resident Appreciation Award. 

A record-breaking 23 faculty members from Weill Cornell Medicine Neurological Surgery were named to the 2023 list of New York SuperDoctors, published as a supplement to The New York Times Magazine on May 14, 2023. This list of outstanding physicians, assembled based on peer nomination, credentials, and achievement, is an elite roster of physicians deemed to be the very best in their field.
