Rita Bahnan is a board-certified physician assistant who provides care for neurological surgery inpatients at Weill Cornell Medicine and New York-Presbyterian. She is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences master's degree physician assistant program in Worcester, Mass., and she completed her clinical and surgical training at varying hospitals throughout Massachusetts as well as pediatric neurology training at CHKD in Virginia.

Rita received her undergraduate degree in neuroscience and psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and worked in a behavioral neuroscience research lab on campus. She graduated as a member of the Nu Rho Psi National Honor Society of Neuroscience. As a post-graduate, Rita worked as a patient care associate in the neuro ICU at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she discovered her passion for providing critical care to neuroscience inpatients. She first experienced the operating room while shadowing during high school, which tied in the surgical passion as well. She completed a surgical internship in Armenia, where she gained experience in the operating room with orthopedic surgeons. As a neurosurgery PA, Rita is committed to providing optimal and accessible care to her patients and their families.
