Dr. Knopman Named Winner of Young Heart Award

The American Heart Association’s Young Professionals of NYC will honor Dr. Jared Knopman with the Young Heart Award at the 2016 Red Ball. The award will be presented to Dr. Knopman for his work as an advocate for heart health and for his pioneering work in new approaches to treating stroke.

Dr. Knopman is a neurosurgeon and interventional neuroradiologist who specializes in cerebrovascular disorders and has added expertise in blood clot embolectomy and carotid stenting and endarterectomy. He has dual expertise in open neurosurgical and minimally invasive interventional techniques for the treatment of neurologic disease, which affords him a unique perspective in determining the optimal treatment for each individual patient's needs using the most cutting-edge technologies.

The YPs of the American Heart Association are volunteers, all under age 40, who provide education and support to young adults, encouraging them to make lifestyle changes to enhance their heart health and reduce their risks of heart disease and stroke.

The Red Ball takes place on Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Highline Ballroom at 431 West 16th Street in New York. For more information or to purchase tickets, please visit the YP page here
