Dr. Stieg to Deliver Keynote Address at Brain Tumor Foundation InfoCon 2021

Dr. Philip E. Stieg, Neurosurgeon-in-Chief of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and the Margaret and Robert J. Hariri, MD ’87, PhD ’87 Professor of Neurological Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, will deliver the keynote address at the 2021 Brain Tumor Foundation InfoCon on Thursday, July 22, at 2:30 pm ET. The keynote address, “A Comprehensive Approach: Journey from Diagnosis to Life After Treatment,” is the centerpiece of a weeklong series of talks designed for brain tumor patients and their caregivers. The lectures will provide important updates about therapies and techniques for confronting brain cancer.

Over the course of the week of July 19, 2021, Brain Tumor InfoCon will feature interactive virtual meetings on brain tumors in adults, young adults, and children, with advice and help for caregivers. Presentations will be followed by the chance for patients and families to speak with leading neurosurgeons and neuro-oncologists and other experts in the field, including not only Dr. Stieg but several other experts from the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center:

Dr. Mark Souweidane and Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield will join Dr. James Rutka of Toronto Sick Kids on Tuesday, July 20, at 7 pm to talk about the latest therapies for children with brain tumors.

Dr. Theodore Schwartz will deliver a talk on living with meningioma on Wednesday, July 21, at 7 pm.

Dr. Babacar Cisse will join Dr. Stieg at the keynote for an engaging and information conversation about the brain tumor journey on Thursday, July 22, at 2:30 pm.

Dr. Jessica Spat-Lemus, neuropsychologist, will chair a caregiver session for loved ones of adults with malignant brain tumors.
