Brenton Pennicooke, MD

Dr. Brenton Pennicooke earned his Bachelors and Masters of Science degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the Johns Hopkins University in 2008 and went on to earn his M.D. from Harvard Medical School in 2012. Dr. Pennicooke's interests within neurosurgery include complex spine surgery, endovascular intervention, skull base surgery, and molecular marker prognostication for brain tumors. He believes Weill Cornell Medicine Resident Training Program provides an perfect balance of operative training and novel research to ultimately develop innovators in the field of neurosurgery. 

Honors and Awards

In 2017 Dr. Pennicooke was named winner of the inaugural Michael L.J. Apuzzo Resident Literature Award for Creativity and Innovation.

In 2016 Dr. Pennicooke won the award for best presentation at the World Forum for Spine Research, held in Dubai 

Dr. Pennicooke won a Charlie Kuntz Scholar Award for 2015-16 for his paper on annular repair using high-density collagen gel.

In 2015 Dr. Pennicooke was selected by the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies (CSNS) as the 2015-16 Socioeconomic Fellow
