Dr. Babacar Cisse and his team, together with neurosurgeon-in-chief Dr. Philip E. Stieg and pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Jeffrey Greenfield, made their inaugural trip to Senegal in October of 2018.
A native of Senegal, Dr. Cisse started a neurosurgical training program in the capital, Dakar. Leading a small team, he trained local health providers to treat complex neurosurgical conditions with the aim to improve the conditions of basic neurosurgical care in Senegal.
