Dr. Andreas Leidinger has been selected as the second Global Health Neurosurgery Fellow and will assume his one-year assignment at Bugando Medical Center and Muhimbili Orthopedic Institute (MOI) in Dar Es Salaam on July 1, 2017.  The fellowship is being jointly funded by the Weill Cornell Medicine Brain and Spine Center and Fundación NED (Neurocirugia Educacion y DeSarrollo), a nonprofit organization based in Valencia, Spain.

Dr. Theodore Schwartz and Dr. Mark Souweidane recently presented at the Second Annual International Congress of the Neurosurgery Department of Ain Shams University (AINAS II) in Cairo. The international meeting, which was organized by the university in collaboration with the Egyptian Society of Neurological Surgery (ESNS), brought together experts from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Germany, South Korea, Finland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to bring advanced endoscopic neurosurgical training to local surgeons.

The paper, “Endoscope-assisted endonasal versus supraorbital keyhole resection of olfactory groove meningiomas: comparison and combination of 2 minimally invasive approaches,” was written by Dr. Schwartz along with Dr. Matei Banu, Dr. Alpesh Mehta, Dr. Malte Ottenhausen, Dr. Justin F. Fraser, Dr. Oszkar Szentirmai, Dr. Vijay K. Anand, Dr. Apostolos J. Tsiouris, MD, and Kunal S. Patel.
