The executive, husband of "Lean In" author Sheryl Sandberg, was on vacation in Mexico with his family when he apparently slipped off a treadmill in the resort's fitness center and struck his head. On this CNN video segment, neurotrauma expert Roger Härtl explains how even a small external injury can cause fatal brain injury, and talks about the importance of getting a patient to a well-equipped trauma center as soon as possible. Goldberg was not discovered injured in the fitness center for more than two hours.
