Chaomei Xiang, Ph.D.

Dr. Chaomei Xiang is an Instructor in Neurological Surgery and a member of Dr. Nadia Dahmane’s research team at the Weill Cornell Medicine Children’s Brain Tumor Project.  Dr. Xiang has built an extensive portfolio of research work and professional publications in his areas of expertise, which are the fetal developmental aspects and genetics of pediatric brain tumors.

Dr. Xiang earned his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Wuhan University in China, followed by a master’s degree in genetics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was awarded his Ph.D. in neurobiology from the University of Wuerzburg in Germany. 

After earning his Ph.D., Dr. Xiang worked as Postdoctoral Fellow in Dr. Nadia Dahmane’s laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania, then as a Senior Research Investigator in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania.  After two years as a Research Fellow in the Department of Stem Cell Biology at the Lerner Research Institute in Cleveland, Dr. Xiang rejoined Dr. Dahmane at the Weill Cornell Medicine Department of Neurological Surgery in New York.
